SC Waffle Fest 2026 is finally here. 🎉
Today is the day for SC Waffle Fest in Downtown Liberty from 10AM to 5PM. We’ve got live music, food trucks, craft vendors, and entertainment all day long.
Grab your friends, bring your appetite, and come spend the day with us. We can’t wait to see everyone Downtown!
As we get ready for SC Waffle Fest 2026 on March 21, we want to make sure everyone is aware of upcoming road closures and parking restrictions in the downtown area.
March 21st | Downtown Liberty | 10 AM to 5 PM
Sarlin Park Parking Lot
Part of the lot will close at 7 AM on Friday, March 20.
The remainder will close at 6 PM on Friday, March 20 and will stay closed until Saturday, March 21 at 5 PM.
S. Commerce Street
Closed at 10 PM on Friday, March 20 until Saturday, March 21 at 5 PM.
W. Front Street
Closed at 10 PM on Friday, March 20 until Saturday, March 21 at 5 PM.
Please make plans to move vehicles ahead of these times. Any vehicles remaining in these areas at the time of closure will be towed at the owner’s expense.

We are getting everything ready for a big day in Downtown Liberty, and we want to make parking as easy as possible for everyone coming out to enjoy SC Waffle Fest 2026.
A shuttle bus will be provided and operated every 15 minutes, courtesy of Potter’s Clay Fellowship.
Shuttle pick-up locations are marked with a STAR on the map.

Additional Parking:
• Depot Street (Behind City Hall)

Mills Avenue is currently closed at W. Beattie Street due to downed trees and power outages.
Please avoid the area and use an alternate route while crews work to clear the roadway and restore power.
We appreciate everyone’s patience while this is being addressed.
Beginning today, March 11th, 2026, around noon, crews will begin blasting work at the Tractor Supply construction site. This work is expected to continue periodically through the end of next week.
Residents and businesses in the nearby area may hear loud noises during blasting times. For reference, the maximum sound that could be experienced in the vicinity may be similar to a 9mm gunshot.
While this may be noticeable, the blasting will be conducted underground, so there will be no visible explosions.
Police Chief Tetter will be on site around the start time today to ensure everything is operating safely and as expected.
In addition, seismic monitors have been installed in areas extremely close to the site to measure and monitor vibrations.
Citizens in the immediate vicinity may experience brief sound disruptions during blasting periods. If you are in the area and hear a loud noise during the day, please know it is related to this planned construction activity.

The Waffle Eating Contest takes place from 2:30–3:00 PM on the Courtyard Stage during SC Waffle Fest 2026.
*Spots may be limited depending on contest interest and available supplies. If necessary, priority will be given to those who signed up first.

A quorum of the Liberty City Council may attend a walkthrough of the Pickens County Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 20th at 11:30AM at the Pickens County Performing Arts Center. No official action or voting will take place.
Duke Energy has announced the selected route for the Liberty Norris 100-kV Line Relocation Project, which is part of their efforts to improve reliability and meet the community’s current and future energy needs.
As part of this project, Duke Energy representatives may be in the area conducting surveys along the selected route corridor. In some cases, the route could cross private property as they work to determine the final, precise location of the transmission line.
If you see Duke Energy crews or representatives in the community in the coming weeks, they may be conducting these surveys as part of the project planning process.

On 3/10, Mayor Wagner has been invited to participate in the SDPC Strategic Planning session from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
On 3/12, Mayor Wagner will be speaking at Career Day at YLA in Pickens from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM.
Liberty Business Owners:
- You have two months to submit your business license renewal before penalties are applied.
- You may renew your license anytime between now and April 30.
- Penalties will be applied beginning May 1.
