Candidate Filing for the November 4, 2025, Election – City of Liberty

Candidate filing for the November 4, 2025, election in the City of Liberty will open at noon on Monday, July 21, 2025, and close at noon on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The following seats will be on the ballot:
Mayor
Council Member – At-Large
Council Member – Ward 1
Council Member – Ward 2

Registered voters who have lived in and been a resident of the municipality and/or ward for at least 30 days prior to the election may file as a candidate. Filing will take place with the City Clerk of Liberty during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm). At the time of filing, each candidate must submit a Statement of Candidacy and pay the required filing fee listed below.

Mayor-$50

Council seat-$25

Candidate filing forms (nonpartisan) are available at SCVotes.gov under the “Candidates” tab.

In addition, all candidates must file electronically with the South Carolina State Ethics Commission:
