Notice of Scheduled Water Work
Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 27, Public Works will be installing a 24-inch water valve. During this time, between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., some customers may notice lower water pressure. This is expected and nothing to be concerned about.
We appreciate your patience while our team completes their work.
If your water pressure is still low after 2:00 p.m., please contact the Water Department at 864-843-3177 ext. 2.
CITY OFFICES WILL RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATING HOURS ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd.
South Commerce Street will be closed to thru traffic at midnight FRIDAY 8/22/2025 and will reopen after the yard sale event on Saturday 8/23/2025.
Any vehicles remaining on South Commerce Street at the time of closure will be towed at the owners expense.

One lane of Highway 178 will be closed between Kay Holcombe Road and Sitton Street on Friday, August 8, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM. The closure will remain in place until the work is complete.
The Liberty Recreation Department will be hosting its annual Super Saturday on August 16th.
Tickets will be sold online ONLY and will be available for preorder beginning August 9th. No cash tickets will be sold.
Concessions will be available.
9 AM - 6U Edwards
10 AM - 6U Odom
11 AM - 6U Alexander
12 PM - 8U Smith
1:30 PM - 10U Sexton
Lessons are 5-10 minutes long and coaches will address traits like integrity, respect and perseverance. Each coach will be provided a packet which also includes talking points and optional devotionals for parents and guardians to also engage in the lessons with their athletes at home.
The Liberty Rec is working to create healthier families, not only physically but holistically!
