We are thrilled to announce that Vic Tetter has officially been appointed as Police Chief for the City of Liberty!
Chief Tetter brings over 27 years of law enforcement experience, including 11 years in upper-level police leadership. Since joining the City of Liberty in 2013— earning a promotion to Captain in 2017—and has been serving as Interim Police Chief since September 2024.
During his time as interim chief, he made a lasting impact by enhancing public safety & community outreach, boosting department morale, and building strong partnerships with neighboring agencies. His dedication and leadership have already made a difference, and we know he'll continue to lead with excellence in his new role.
This evening, April 14th, Chief Tetter was officially sworn in—and we couldn't be more proud or excited to have him continue serving the community he's been a part of for nearly a decade.
