NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 11, 2020 at 10 AM in the Rosewood Center, 419 East Main Street or via Zoom meeting (Meeting ID: 964 2273 2062/Password 295005) the City of Liberty will hold a public hearing concerning an application to be submitted to South Carolina Department of Commerce, Grants Administration on or about 6/15/2020, for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The City of Liberty is requesting $517,800 to carry out the following activities.
The project consists of the rehabilitation of three sewer lift stations; two lift stations will be replaced and one will be converted to a gravity line. The work is needed to correct issues with sewer overflows, infill and infiltration issues. The construction costs are $495,800, engineering, inspection and construction management costs are $56,000, grant management fees are $38,000. The City of Liberty is providing $72,000 towards project costs. The project will benefit 225 persons.
This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the City of Liberty’s Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of Liberty in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds.
