Liberty Middle School is helping to fight childhood cancer by sponsoring
activities to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Cancer Foundation during the
first two weeks of March. The first event is a chess tournament that
begins tomorrow (Feb.1) afternoon. Seventeen Liberty Middle students
will be participating and their entry fee will go to this cause.
During the next two weeks many Liberty Middle students and staff are
raising money to have their head shaved in support of this cause. These
students and staff will be accepting donations in person and online at
http://www.st.baldricks.org/events/lmsfalcons. By going to this
website you can select the student or staff member for whom you would
like to donate.
This drive will also include student produced interviews of students
with cancer and promotions on The Falcon Morning News. There will also
be smaller events held during the next two weeks such as special days to
wear green, shamrock face painting, etc.
The culminating event will be the St. Patrick’s Day dance which will be
held on Friday, March 15. In addition to the dance students will be able
to witness the students and staff who raised funds get their heads
shaved . Please help the St Baldrick’s Foundation fight childhood cancer
by supporting Liberty Middle students in this effort.
