Heart of Liberty fall festival – Saturday, Nov. 5 (Vendor & General Info)

General Info:

Saturday, Nov. 5, 10 am – 4 pm, downtown Liberty

Pickens County Council signed a proclamation last year declaring us a Purple Heart County, and with a name like Liberty, we should be the most patriotic town inside of Pickens County!  We are well on our way with our annual Love My Liberty event in July, and we want to keep that theme alive this fall by honoring the veterans who’ve fought for our liberties with a pre-Veterans Day festival!

In addition to honoring Liberty-area veterans, the Heart of Liberty Fest will celebrate all the great shops and causes to give your heart to right here in town.  More information coming soon about ways to contribute to lots of wonderful causes who give back to our community.

Are you or someone you know a veteran living in (or originally from) our area?  We want to include you in our tribute!  Please fill out one of our Veterans Information Forms here:  Veteran Info Form

Vendors:  We have an exciting opportunity for you to help bring traffic to your booth while honoring local vets at the same time!  When you sponsor a veteran by donating at least $5 above your booth fee, we will present you with a poster to display at your booth featuring photos and information about that veteran.  During the event, participants will have an opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt, looking for clues in the displayed posters at vendor booths, to win prizes.  In order to be a part of the scavenger hunt, be sure to tack on your donation of at least $5 at checkout.

Please read ALL of the guidelines carefully before completing checkout.  You MUST be either providing a service, hosting an interactive station (game, raffle, photobooth, etc.) or selling approved merchandise (arts & crafts, food, etc.).  No refunds for failure to read rules thoroughly.  Direct sales will be limited to one rep per company.  You are responsible for ensuring others have no registered from your company prior to signing up for this event.

** Vendors click here to register online.  Register before August 26 using the promo code EARLYBIRD and get 10% your booth fee!  (This exclude electricity fees & sponsorship donations.) Enter your promo code by clicking on the option at the top of your order page before checkout.*

Liberty Community Enrichment Meeting – Monday, July 25

Update: Click to view notes from the July meeting  Overview – July 2016 CEC Mtg

The Liberty Community Enrichment Committee meets the last Monday of every month at 6 pm at the Rosewood Center, and all meetings are open to the public. Everyone who attends has a voice in what types of events we bring to Liberty, and ultimately, a vote (by everyone in attendance) often determines things like dates, themes and names of events. As always, those who are unable to attend meetings are welcome to contact City Hall in advance to have an idea considered in their absence. While we may not be able to execute every great idea we hear, it is our goal to determine ways we can incorporate as many great ideas into our events as possible with our limited resources.

The next meeting is tonight, Monday, July 25, at the Rosewood Center. We will be discussing the fall festival. The date and a general theme have already been determined in previous meetings (Veteran’s Day/patriotic theme; Nov. 5), while others will be decided on tonight (name, activities, etc.). All are welcome to provide input. However, we request that everyone comes prepared to make their pitch brief (less than 5 minutes) in order to be respectful of everyone’s time and make meetings as productive as possible.

Have your children decorate their bikes and scooters and be a part of the Emma Boughman Bike Brigade during Love My Liberty on July 4!  Parents are allowed (but not required) to ride with or alongside their small children.  Parade line-up time is 6:30 (with parade beginning at approx. 6:45) at the stadium.  Parade route is one lap (one quarter mile) around the football stadium.
