Since taking office Mayor Deese has made the revitalization of downtown,
economic development and the expansion of Freedom Park staples of his
administration. He is very involved with the citizens of the City of
Liberty and has an open door policy. He was instrumental in bringing
the Liberty Idol to downtown Liberty which continues to draw large
crowds to the downtown area.
Mayor Deese was born in Montreal,
Canada. He grew up a military brat. By the time he was sixteen years
old, he had lived in France for three years and Germany for three
years. The family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana when he was seventeen
years old. Mayor Deese graduated from high school in New Orleans and
attended Loyola University studying Business Management.
Mayor Deese and his wife Gerri, moved
to Liberty in 1988. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Both Mayor Deese and wife Gerri love
Liberty and could not think of a better place to live.
